On the Rocks

Hi everyone!

I had a fab weekend, we went to Repentigny this weekend to visit Mr. D. brothers. R one of the brothers  lives on the shore of L'Assomption River, this is east Montreal , it is amazing! i will have pics of the place later this week. As i am typing, i am sitting with an ice pack in my back and  a glass of wine, Mr. D. set me up so i can be confortable. I have  major pain in the shoulder, do not ask me why how i did this! You try to stay in shape and you hurt yourself, the only activity i am doing as far as sport is yoga these days, it should help!

I took these pics last week in the back alley , someone was doing his roof , so lucky for me i got a nice backdrop to do my shoot! This is for you ladies an fine example of pattern mixing, i was quite happy with the result, it had a retro 40's flair. The purse is fabulous, this is something that i found in a second hand store near the house, it even has initials, so cool!

Y do I love this place....

This summer have been volunteering at Fringues & Cie- this is a thrift shop in the YWCA in downtown Montreal. A lot of my clothes are purchased at Fringues & Cie, I always find that little something missing in my closet or that great piece that you absolutely have to purchase which for me is every week!

Fringues & Cie is a non- lucrative organization helping women to insert the workplace.

The ladies get a paid work experience and a complete training in customer service.

Money spent at Fringues & Cie will finance activities that will promote socioprofessionnal insertion.

 I loved volunteering at Fringues &Cie this summer especially because Ericka who is in charge of the thrift shop is such a sweet lady.

 I bought that night a wonderful lace dress that I will remix with all kind of funky pieces , a snake pattern skirt that can be worn every season-  and a sweater with an ethnic pattern.

 Can wait to see more Fall clothing in the store, they already put out some pieces, and I will surely be there often!

Tennis Anyone...

I took those pics between the cake and the decoration, remember it was Mr. D birthday on Saturday!

By the way it was a success, Mr. D was very happy it had all his family around him, we had lots of fun, we ate too much, we drank too much but what the heck! we had Sunday to recuperate, but all in all we we all  behaved!

We had corn on the cob, cold cuts, cheeses, bread, vino and a triple chocolate cake!

About what i wore-  i bought this little number in Portland ME, at a boutique called Find.

I never seen a 70's tennis dress around here- I love the multicolor waist band and the pocket where i imagine you put your tennis balls.  I got a prop for this shoot, i knew Mr. D had an old tennis racquet hidden in the basement!

News from Izzy my daughter who went styling in Toronto, she was a hit! well can it be any other way!, it is not just the mother talking, the lady has talent and thinks outside the box when it comes to put an outfit together!

The Rainbow Skirt

Hi everyone!

TGIF yes!  what about that! this is what working is all about - TGIF!

Tomorrow is Mr. D birthday a million things to do - I love birthdays, i go crazy, too much decoration, too much food, too much of everything but what the heck it happens once a year!

I think birthdays are important, it is an opportunity to tell your loved one that you simply adore her or him that he or she is the most important person on the planet that day, don't you agree!

Now the skirt - oh yes ! that special skirt! I purchased the rainbow skirt  in  North Conway at a consignment boutique called My Sister's closet.

She had amazing stuff, i wish i had bought more!

Quality Time

On Sunday afternoon Mr. D and I spent some quality time at Maisonneuve park. Maisonneuve park is one of many oasis in Montreal. It is near the Botanical gardens and Olympic stadium. It is only a 10 minute bike ride from my home. So off we went with some goodies and of course the bootle of vino to have a relax afternoon listening to the birds, talking, laughing and just enjoy life with my sweet loving perfect Mr.D!

Izzy and Me

Izzy my daughter the fab blogger , Stephane, Mr. D and family all got together for a BBQ on Sunday. This was the perfect time to celebrate her first professional styling assignment in Toronto next weekend.

Izzy and I took the opportunity to take pictures together- Stephane was the photographer for the shots of Izzy and me.  I took Izzy’s  shots earlier  in the garden .

 Mr.D Izzy, Stephane and myself are planning a trip to New York possibly in October –  Smart Mr.D  is figuring out our options for the trip –

I just love New York,  it is a crazy lively city – so many things to look at – to smell – to hate,  but  I love New York’s energy – I like to visit, but would I live there?  Hummmm… Ok well give me a couple of millions and a penthouse on Fifth maybe I will live there.

Sunshine and the vintage find

Another fabulous weekend it is unreal to get such amazing weather I do not remember when we got rain or if we got rain I was not aware of it, which is good!

Izzy the fabulous blogger and also my beloved daughter will be styling in Toronto next weekend, she was invited to a Canadian blogger event and she will styling size ++ for Addition Elle . Mom is very proud and excited for her!

I for myself will get the credits for translating a documentary and have her name on the silver screen! What about that! Will be signing autographs soon! Joking of course! But you know, when you are working hard it is nice to enjoy the little rewards that come your way.

Mom will bake a special treat for her girl she is coming for a BBQ tomorrow with her boyfriend. Can wait to see her and give that special I am proud of you girl hug!

I took these pics while on vacation. This is a fab vintage mini dress, it jumped at me again while thrifting at my favourite Renaissance shop, I love the colors and the print.
